Tiger Team

Do you want to enhance your effectiveness and impact larger numbers of potential clients?

Try this; establish informal relationships with other attorneys in your area who are not practicing in your area of specialization. Look for attorneys who you would hire based on their reputation and performance.  Identify those that deal in a specialty different from your own. See if they are interested in a loose association with you and others to create a “Tiger Team”.

The purpose of this group is to enhance the ability of all of members of your group to be more competitive and to help one another to build upon the marketing efforts of one another through cross referrals.

Too many attorneys, out of concern for a client suing them due to  a bad referral, will give more than one name and let the client choose their attorney from several options. Why do that, when you can help your client find a truly competent attorney? And your client will value your opinion if you are clear and firm in making a recommendation.

You may also want to consider expanding the group to include CPA’s, financial planners, social workers, and others who might be able to assist your clients.

You could meet periodically as a group to find ways improve your purchasing power, seek discounts though coordinated purchases, and develop strategies to improve everyone’s “bottom line”. It may be possible to join forces to do public service in the name of several underlying sponsors without having to be at every event yourself. Use others with common interests to leverage your business and expand your influence.
